Round 15 saw us travel out to the ever windy Glen Huntley Oval to play top-four placed Caulfield. Kicking with the wind in the first quarter we knew we had to capitalise early and we were able to kick a quick goal to gain ascendency. That is unfortunately where it stopped. The rest of the quarter was a dog fight as there were multiple stoppages due to the conditions.
Heading into the second quarter against the wind we really struggled as we didn't play the conditions well at all. Caulfield stamped their authority on the game. The third quarter was our best as we used the wind much better rather than just bombing in hope. We were able to get out the back a lot and use some of our speed.
The last quarter was tough as the scoreboard blew out. It didn't really reflect the play as we were always in the contest and had a lot of inside 50's, but it was inaccurate kicking that cost us as we kicked four points that could have easily been goals. To the players credit they didn't stop trying even when challenged with injuries again, which is all you can ask for as a coach.
