After a great week on the track we approached our final grading match full of confidence, there was a positive vibe in the sheds and we welcomed our newest recruit Henry the Golden Retriever at the pre-match address. After laying down the match structures for the day the captain addressed the team calling for a fast start and effective conversion. So it was paws in and 3, 2, 1 Panthers!
The captains request was met with an emphatic 8 goals to nil first quarter. From there the opposition battled bravely but never really got a look in and didn’t threaten to score. Our goal-side pressure was relentless with smothers and gang tackles producing another 19 amazing goals in the next three quarters.
The match structure objective to release the ball and spread was a great success, with ladies making space to receive the footy and looking for options to give the ball off by hand. In short we cut the opposition to pieces with our rapid ball movement and penetration.
We welcomed back Clare with her completely dominating the ruck contests and an amazing 45 metre barrel goal after the siren at the half time break. There was smoke coming off the whiteboard as the rotations were incessant! The team was rotated heavily off the ground, up the ground, down the ground, even under the ground if Morgy or Maddy tackled you but it made no difference to our rate of scoring. Amazing!
In short it was an awesome performance and given it was a grading game we might be lining up against the Richmond senior mens AFL team next week. Highlighting best players was impossible given the amount of ball we had. Everyone got leather poisoning!

Our thoughts are with Nikki as she prepares for scans on her knee. Fingers crossed for a best case outcome!
