U19s v Old Melbournians

Round Number 8, Saturday, 03 June 2017

  • Opponent: Old Melbournians
  • Match Result: Loss
  • Played at: Away

    Us 1.0 1.0 2.1 3.2.20
    Them 1.5 4.7 10.11 11.13.79

We travelled to Elsternwick Park to play Old Melburnians in round 8 as we sat atop the ladder we knew that they would come out hard and be wanting to take it up to us.

Unfortunately we went away from what has served us well this year. We lost a couple of players early but this is no excuse. We did not play as a team and we continued to kick to packs that benefited our opponents.

This was the case for most of the game as we fell behind in the second quarter and we were playing catch up for the rest of the game.

We tried to take the game on and try different things but we kept falling into the same traps and Melburnians kicked ahead.

A disappointing outing although we have a week off to re group and ready ourselves for our next game vs St Bedes Mentone at home.
