The second-last game for the year saw the return of some familiar faces to the team as we lined up against Whitefriars at home.  We were treated with a great day for football with both teams right in the hunt for the win.  Great to have more of the Carey year 12 boys playing.

The first quarter saw Whitefriars jump out of the blocks early and, coupled with us not quite following the game plan, they held the lead at quarter-time by nine points. It was mainly small things that needed adjustment which we addressed at the break and came out wanting to show what we could do best.

From then on it was like we flicked a switch and started playing some really good football. We kept them goalless for the quarter and managed to kick five of our own to lead at half-time by 20 points.

The third quarter was more of the same as we transitioned the ball really well from back to forward and had great forward line pressure to keep it in there when we had the chance. Four goals to one in the quarter pushed us further in front at the final break.

Not wanting to be complacent we set a task to kick another six goals in the game. We came out full of run once again and managed to kick the six we wanted and ran out 50-point winners.

Onto our last game of the year next week and try and cause an upset against ladder leaders Parkdale.
