This week saw us coming up against last year’s premiers and with another 11 changes to our side including an injury to our captain Mitch Hexter, the signs looked ominous
Thankfully, some of these changes included the return of a club legend in Andrew Kent and the comebacks of 2 very talented players in Chiuchiarelli and Cambridge who all contributed well featuring in our Best and Goal Kickers
Again our endeavour was there, the players really gave a lot of effort, our tackling and hardness in the contest was sensational but it was fitness that again lacked and proved our undoing in the end.
At quarter time, Trinity lead by 22 points and by half time the difference was just 20, and we had out played them for most of the quarter only letting Trinity back into it in the last few minutes before half time.
In the third quarter we jumped out of the blocks kicking the first goal and getting within a couple of goals and the team was up and firing. But our forward entries began to go unrewarded and Trinity broke us down piling on 5 gaols towards the end of the third
The last quarter was similar where we came out really having a crack and kicking straight with 3-1 but couldn’t stop our opponents from piling on another 5-1
We learned a lot and we really are aware of our weaknesses and strengths going into Round 4 against Parkdale
