The first really wet Saturday of the year meant the game against Collegians was going to be a slog all day. We started the game incredibly well, kicking two first quarter goals by keeping the game plan simple. Our tackling pressure, led by Jack Harris, Matt Driver and Patty Cremean, was fantastic and kept us right in the game. Our back 6, led by Mazzacato, was superb under pressure and kept us in the contest.

Unfortunately we couldn’t kick another goal until the last quarter, but we stayed in the game right the way through. Again we battled away with 20 men for most of the day, and I give huge credit to the guys for sticking fat and giving it their all. The intensity and pressure of the first term can be bottled now, we know we can do it and we know that is what it takes to be competitive.

We look forward to Blacks this week before a enjoying a bye to regenerate and rebuild for the back half of the year.
